Whilst we are approaching the warmer months, we start planning for winter.
As we gradually step closer to the summer, it’s a good time to have a clear out of your winter clothing and make room for your summer outfits. Don’t know what to do with your woolly jumpers, heavy jeans and thick coats? Donate them to us here at Recycled Clothing Banks.
Now is the time of year where we start to plan ways to help the homeless this coming winter. Spare a thought for those who have to sleep on the streets, alone and cold. We work with HandsOn London to help London’s ever-growing homeless community and we save up sleeping bags and warm coats to donate around November time, so that anyone in need can pick up items to help keep them warm.
Most of us have the luxury of a roof over our heads but the winter months are dangerous and freezing temperatures can kill. Our homeless community need our support all year round, but we are trying to stockpile as much warm clothing and bedding for them as possible now.
So if you are clearing out your old clothing and household textiles, remember to donate them to us rather than sell them on eBay or Facebook Marketplace; you will be putting them to far better use and helping our homeless community.
Why not install one of our recycled clothing bins which are completely FREE of charge, and branded with your organisation’s logo and brand colours? We’ll even pay you up to £400 per tonne to help your local community projects or support your charity. We install on business and local authority premises all across the South-East of England and it’s an environmentally friendly way to recycle and earn some extra cash. All you have to do is provide us with the artwork for your logo and we do the rest. Our expertly trained team will ensure that your bins are collected on a pre-agreed date and will always be emptied by our uniformed, ID-wearing staff. They will also ensure that your recycled clothing bins are cleaned inside and out, leaving your site clean, tidy and rubbish-free.
We accept all clothing, tied paired shoes/trainers, household fabrics such as linen, towels and curtains and those all-important sleeping bags for HandsOn London. We even accept balls of wool so we can donate them to a group of very special ladies who knit soft toys to support charities.
If you’d like to get involved and help our homeless charity and the community it supports, please contact our friendly team today. It’s an easy yet effective way to raise funds and make a difference to the people who need our help.
