Charities have never needed your help more than they do today
As we head towards the fun and festivities of Christmas, please spare a thought for those who have no choice but to sleep on the streets or the people suffering from illness, domestic violence, mental health issues or circumstances that are simply out of their control. Also spare a thought for the people fleeing their homeland in need of refuge in the UK. These people won’t necessarily get to enjoy Christmas the way the rest of us take for granted. The winter months and freezing temperatures are a danger to our homeless community, our elderly and people on the poverty line who can’t afford food or heat.
In the season of good will, offering a hand of support to the homeless and vulnerable makes a very powerful and impactful difference. Figures released by homeless charity, Crisis, say that in 2021 there are c.170,000 people who are homeless. There are now over 185,000 registered charities in England & Wales spending £355,738,364 this year alone on supporting their most needy. As you can imagine, funds have been slashed because of the pandemic and there has never been a more critical time to give. The number of families having to use foodbanks runs into hundreds of thousands.
Overall, losses are running into hundreds of millions of pounds. The National Council for Voluntary Organisations is calling for a financial emergency package to support the continued work of charities in the community ensuring that their services continue to be provided to those who need them most.
Here at Recycled Clothing Banks, we work with charities all over the country by providing them with FREE branded clothing bins for people to donate their unwanted clothes, shoes and household textiles, which can all be reused and can make a positive difference to someone’s life. Rather than selling your unwanted clothes on eBay or Facebook Marketplace, you could put them to better use by donating them to those who need them most or organising the installation of one of our recycled clothing bins on your business site/local area.
If you know of any charity that could benefit from earning £400 per tonne of reusable, pre-loved clothing, then we would love to hear from you. We will provide a FREE fully branded recycling bin, make a cash payment and come and collect all textiles donations when your bin is full. This is a simple, fast and effective way to raise much-needed funds and make a difference to the people who need our help. It will also keep 93% of clothing donations out of landfill to help heal our planet.
It’s so easy to call us and arrange a FREE fully branded recycling bin and raise much-needed funds and make a difference during this global health crisis.
Here is a very useful link you may like to use and pass the information on to any homeless person this winter to help them find shelter for the festive period.
