Removal of "We Stand Together Against Poverty" Clothing Banks in Gateshead
The "We Stand Together Against Poverty" clothing banks were among a number of bins located throughout the Gateshead area that had become a concern for Gateshead Council.
We were initially approached by Gateshead Council, who were dealing with a significant issue involving unauthorised and illegally placed clothing banks. Following their investigations, it was established that the "We Stand Together Against Poverty" bins did not have the necessary permissions from either the landowners or the Council to be located at these sites.
After completing their checks, Gateshead Council issued removal notices for the bins. We were then contacted by the Environmental Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Officer and appointed to carry out the removal of the bins on behalf of the Council.
Based on site inspections, photographic evidence, and discussions with local officers, it was clear that fly-tipping around the bins was becoming increasingly problematic. The situation was deteriorating week by week, with waste and unwanted items accumulating around the sites, creating both environmental and public nuisance concerns.
Our team safely removed the bins, helping to restore the affected locations and reduce the ongoing issues associated with illegal waste disposal.
